19th Century Andirons
19th century metal andirons were traditionally placed inside a fireplace, to which the logs to burn would be placed atop them. The space beneath the logs and length of the legs allows for the fire to have “breathing space” underneath to circulate air. This is an old practice but still holds up today. Andirons are a great addition to your fireplace to bring a practical piece of history into your home.
